As part of their preparations for the AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2027 Qualifiers, the Indian U20 men’s team will have two friendly matches against Singapore at the Centre for Sports Excellence in Bengaluru. The matches are set to occur on August 3 and 6, and they will be held without spectators. India and Singapore have a history of encounters in official U20 men’s competitions, with India emerging victorious in past meetings.
The upcoming matches against Singapore hold significance for the Indian team as they gear up for the AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2027 Qualifiers. Led by head coach Mahesh Gawali, the Blue Colts are preparing to face Syria, Uzbekistan, and Bangladesh in Tashkent on August 31, September 3, and September 6, respectively. The team’s training camp in Bengaluru has seen the participation of 102 players from various regions, with 26 players currently in training with the U20 national team.
In preparation for the qualifiers, the Indian U20 team has been actively training at The Sports School and the Centre for Sports Excellence in Bengaluru. Notably, 15 players have been temporarily released from the camp to partake in the Reliance Foundation Development League (RFDL) Japan Tour, representing clubs like Punjab FC, Bengaluru FC, and FC Goa. Following the tour, these players will rejoin the national team camp.
