Olympic silver medalist Mirabai Chanu has backed the ongoing student protests regarding the NEET paper leak, commending the protesters for their efforts. She mentioned her intention to visit Delhi’s Jantar Mantar after completing her Commonwealth Games commitments. Despite their rigorous training schedules, athletes like Chanu stay informed about national events, acknowledging both positive developments and unfortunate incidents in the country.

Chanu expressed her appreciation for the student protests in Delhi, stating that she believes the protesters are making a positive impact. When asked about visiting Jantar Mantar to show support, she indicated that she would consider it after focusing on her current sporting endeavors. The protests in the capital are in response to the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak and exam irregularities, with participants demanding accountability and reforms to restore trust in the examination system.

The demonstrations at Jantar Mantar have attracted students, parents, and supporters from various parts of the country, highlighting the widespread concern over education-related issues. Notably, Olympic champion Abhinav Bindra also emphasized the importance of enhancing India’s education system, emphasizing the significance of providing opportunities and fostering curiosity among the youth. Bindra’s social media post underscored the collective responsibility in strengthening the education system for the benefit of future generations.
