Members of the Indian women’s cricket team, including captain Harmanpreet Kaur, visited the Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga temple in Ujjain. They participated in the traditional Bhasma Aarti to seek blessings for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
The players, such as Arundhati Kirkire, Shafali Verma, and others, were welcomed by the temple committee after the prayers. This visit is not new, as the team had sought blessings at the same temple before the Women’s World Cup 2025, which they later won.
India is gearing up for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup starting on June 12 in England. The team, currently training in Bengaluru, is placed in Group 1 alongside teams like Australia, South Africa, and Pakistan.
Harmanpreet Kaur & Co will kick off their campaign against Pakistan on June 14 in Birmingham. The team aims to secure their first global title in the women’s T20 format after finishing as runners-up in the 2020 Women’s T20 World Cup.
