An Indian worker lost his life in a strike by Iran on a power and water desalination facility in Kuwait. The Kuwaiti government confirmed the incident, raising the total number of Indian nationals killed in the West Asia conflict to at least eight.
The attack not only resulted in the death of the Indian worker but also caused significant damage to a service building at the facility. Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity and Water denounced the strike as a “sinful Iranian aggression” against the Gulf nation.
Emergency and technical response teams were promptly dispatched to the site to manage the situation, minimize the damage, and ensure the continuous operation of the facility without major disruptions. The Ministry stressed the importance of maintaining the safety and stability of the electricity and water infrastructure as a top priority.
The recent fatality follows a tragic event in the United Arab Emirates where another Indian national lost his life due to falling debris from a ballistic missile interception over Abu Dhabi. The Indian Embassy is actively collaborating with UAE authorities to offer support to those affected by the conflict.
