India’s Ambassador to Japan, Nagma Mallick, participated in the general meeting of the Japan-India Parliamentarians’ Friendship League (JIPFL) in Tokyo. She highlighted the future objectives outlined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi during the session. The Indian Embassy in Tokyo commended the JIPFL for its continuous efforts in strengthening Japan-India relations.
Ambassador Mallick shared insights with league members on the outcomes of the Japan-India Annual Summit in New Delhi. She also discussed the ambitious future goals set by Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Takaichi. Emphasizing the significance of enhancing parliamentary exchanges as both nations approach the 75th anniversary of their diplomatic ties, the Ambassador stressed the need for deeper dialogue to advance the Japan-India Special Strategic Global Partnership.
During her recent visit to India, PM Takaichi expressed her commitment to elevating the bilateral relationship to new heights alongside PM Modi. The 16th Annual India-Japan Summit held in New Delhi covered various aspects of bilateral cooperation, including trade, investment, energy, defense, and people-to-people exchanges. The leaders exchanged key Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements encompassing Economic Security, Clean Energy, critical technologies, and research and development.
PM Takaichi highlighted the alignment between her vision of the “Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP)” and PM Modi’s concept of Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions (MAHASAGAR). Both leaders aim to foster a prosperous Indo-Pacific region characterized by freedom and prosperity.
