India’s stand-in bowling coach, Sunil Joshi, shared that leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi made minor changes to his run-up alignment to enhance his bowling performance in the ongoing T20I series against Zimbabwe. Bishnoi had been facing issues with back-foot no-balls, which had previously impacted India’s game against England. Joshi, along with spin bowling coach Sairaj Bahutule, worked on rectifying this aspect.

According to Joshi, Bishnoi did not alter his bowling action but adjusted his run-up slightly. The coaching staff, including Bahutule, engaged in constructive discussions with Bishnoi, leading to visible improvements. Joshi expressed satisfaction that Bishnoi is now maintaining a safe distance from the return crease, a positive development for the player and the team.

Following recent victories after facing defeats in series against Ireland and England, Joshi commended the team for their strong comeback. He highlighted the importance of securing a win and praised the bowlers for their performances. Joshi particularly praised the resurgence of pacer Mayank Yadav and young fast bowler Ashok Sharma for their consistent and effective bowling.

Joshi emphasized the significance of mental adaptability in various touring conditions, stressing the need for a strong mindset. He underscored the importance of maintaining consistent line and length regardless of the playing conditions, urging players to stay focused and responsive to different situations on the field.
