Minister of State for Defence, Sanjay Seth, highlighted that India’s military power stems from its domestic defence manufacturing capabilities. He praised the armed forces for the success of Operation Sindoor, attributing it to their bravery and the use of indigenous weapon systems. Speaking at the North Tech Symposium in Prayagraj, Seth lauded micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) as vital to the economy and hailed start-ups as the country’s ambassadors.
Addressing the audience, Seth commended the armed forces for their efforts in neutralizing threats and dismantling terror hideouts during Operation Sindoor. He emphasized the importance of ‘Made-in-India’ defence equipment in achieving self-reliance, involving various sectors like government, defence public enterprises, private industries, innovators, start-ups, and MSMEs. Seth also highlighted the surge in defence production and exports as a sign of ‘New India’ strengthening its capabilities to protect national interests.
Underlining the significance of innovation in the face of global uncertainties, Seth urged industry stakeholders to stay ahead of technological advancements. He mentioned government initiatives to bolster the defence ecosystem and expressed full support for innovation. General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Central Command, Anindya Sengupta, stressed the need for industry collaboration with the armed forces to meet evolving operational demands and ensure a future-ready army, emphasizing self-reliance for strategic autonomy and operational flexibility.
