India’s top military leadership gathered in Jaipur to mark the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor, emphasizing a strong stance against terrorism. Senior officers from the Army, Air Force, and Navy reiterated India’s commitment to national security and combating terror threats like the Pahalgam incident. The operation, signifying a new strategic resolve, was highlighted as a continuous effort in the fight against terrorism.
During a joint press conference, Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai underscored the relentless nature of India’s anti-terrorism efforts. He noted the significant impact of Operation Sindoor, revealing that a substantial portion of the country’s weaponry is now domestically produced. Ghai also pointed out the losses suffered by Pakistan during the operation, emphasizing the message that no terrorist base in Pakistan is considered safe anymore.
Air Marshal Avdhesh Kumar Bharti addressed the tragic Pahalgam terror attack, expressing a commitment to preventing such incidents in the future. He emphasized the operational freedom granted to the armed forces during Operation Sindoor and the strategic decision-making process involving all military branches. Bharti clarified that the operation specifically targeted terrorist elements and their support systems, avoiding collateral damage.
Vice Admiral A.N. Pramod highlighted the successful integration of the Army, Navy, and Air Force during Operation Sindoor, emphasizing jointness, self-reliance, and indigenization. He praised the coordinated military action and quick decision-making that led to effective operations. Pramod assured the nation of the armed forces’ readiness and emphasized the importance of self-reliance in achieving operational success.
Lt Gen Zubin A. Minwalla attributed the success of Operation Sindoor to government-initiated reforms and the establishment of the Chief of Defence Staff position. He emphasized the importance of a robust communication architecture and ongoing efforts to strengthen defense against various threats. Lt Gen Minwalla also highlighted modernization initiatives, including the enhancement of command and control structures and collaboration with space agencies to bolster real-time capabilities.
