The Directorate General of Civil Aviation announced that IndiGo has finished processing refunds for flights canceled between December 3-5, 2025. All refunds for these cancellations have been cleared to the original payment source. Passengers affected by cancellations within 24 hours of departure may be eligible for compensation.
IndiGo has also introduced a ‘Gesture of Care’ program for impacted passengers, offering two travel vouchers worth Rs 5,000 each. These vouchers are valid for 12 months and are applicable to passengers whose flights were canceled or delayed over three hours from December 3-5, 2025. Passengers can check eligibility and submit their details to avail the vouchers.
To support affected passengers further, IndiGo advises ensuring accurate contact details are provided during booking. The airline faced significant flight cancellations during December 3-5, causing inconvenience to many passengers nationwide due to pilot roster issues and safety regulation unpreparedness. IndiGo expressed regret for the disruption and emphasized its commitment to enhancing operational processes and resilience.
The government closely monitored IndiGo following the disruption that impacted domestic air travel significantly.
