Indonesia is interested in enhancing collaboration with India to benefit from India’s expertise in technology, digital transformation, public policy, and innovation, as per a report from Times Kuwait. Indonesian officials aim to learn from India’s successful models to develop a robust innovation ecosystem, support startups, and utilize technology for enhanced efficiency in both public and private sectors. This interest stems from India’s notable progress in digital infrastructure, financial inclusion, healthcare innovation, and technology-driven governance, which has garnered global attention.
India’s initiatives in digital infrastructure have facilitated widespread access to banking, healthcare services, and various public platforms for millions of citizens. The potential areas of cooperation between the two countries encompass digital technology, renewable energy, and advanced manufacturing. Analysts suggest that collaborative projects and knowledge sharing could enable India and Indonesia to explore emerging markets and strengthen economic ties, given their significant roles in the Indo-Pacific region.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the new avenues for cooperation during his recent visit to Indonesia, focusing on defense, security, maritime collaboration, critical technologies, artificial intelligence, digital innovation, and capacity building.
