Industry experts have praised the Union Budget 2026, hailing it as progressive, balanced, and in line with India’s long-term growth objectives. Vipin Vohra, Chairman of Continental Carriers Private Limited, expressed positivity towards the budget, especially for the logistics sector. He emphasized the government’s focus on logistics due to the increasing exports from India.
Vohra highlighted the significant allocation of Rs 10,000 crore for container manufacturing as a crucial announcement benefiting the logistics industry. He believes this move will enhance India’s logistics infrastructure and bolster export expansion. Abani Kant Jha, Group Chief Financial Officer of Saatvik, acknowledged that while the budget did not entirely meet his sector’s expectations, it did offer some relief.
Jha noted the extension of basic customs duty exemption on inputs essential for manufacturing glass and lithium batteries. However, he mentioned that the industry had anticipated inclusion in the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, which was absent in this budget. Saurabh Sanyal, Secretary General of Assocham, characterized the Union Budget 2026 as a well-balanced budget.
He commended Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s proposals for aligning with the vision of Viksit Bharat while ensuring overall economic stability. Sanyal described the budget as providing a significant boost to Viksit Bharat, emphasizing its balanced nature and positive impact on the economy.
