During a Congress party event at the Darbhanga District Congress office under the ‘Save MNREGA Campaign’, internal conflicts surfaced as senior leaders faced protests and serious allegations from party members. Bihar Congress Committee member Ram Narayan Jha voiced dissatisfaction with party leadership, alleging exclusion and internal issues. Despite appeals for calm from Congress Legislative Council leader Madan Mohan Jha, protests persisted, with Ram Narayan Jha highlighting organizational shortcomings and alleging neglect of grassroots workers.
Ram Narayan Jha, a long-serving party member, criticized the handling of the 2022 AICC organizational elections, claiming unfair treatment despite assurances. Accusing former Bihar Congress president Akhilesh Singh of corruption, Jha also pointed out irregularities in ticket distribution, attributing them to individuals between Delhi and Patna. He expressed disappointment over the lack of response to his communications with Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, emphasizing the need for internal justice for the party’s progress.
The protest unfolded in the presence of key leaders, including All India Congress General Secretary Krishna Allavaru and Bihar Congress President Rajesh Ram, leading to clashes and chaos. Allegations of ticket selling for money and warnings about the party’s future under such circumstances added to the tense atmosphere, with clashes between rival groups and the use of party flags as weapons.
