Iran is set to launch a tourism roadshow in India, covering Delhi, Mumbai, and Hyderabad in early September. This five-day event, starting on September 5, follows successful roadshows in Southeast Asia, according to Moslem Shojai, head of the foreign tourism marketing and development office. The roadshow aims to foster cooperation through meetings, video presentations, and signing of documents by tourism officials.

Private sector representatives from both countries will engage in face-to-face meetings during the event. The initiative builds on previous events held in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam from June 29 to July 6. Shojai noted the careful selection of countries and months of consultations, with the tourism industry community executing the event and the ministry providing policy and financial support.

Future destinations for Iran’s tourism roadshows include neighboring Arab countries, the Iraqi Kurdistan region, and Russia. This initiative is part of Iran’s broader strategy to boost its tourism sector, which includes recent visa waiver agreements with several countries, including India. The roadshow will precede Iran’s participation in the Mumbai Tourism Exhibition.

The 4th edition of ITB India will be held from September 11 to 13 at Mumbai’s Jio World Convention Centre. This three-day event is a significant business-to-business travel and tourism trade fair for India, bringing together industry leaders, buyers, and service providers from around the world. ITB India aims to be a crucial platform for building and strengthening partnerships within the international and Indian travel and tourism industry.
