Iran’s Deputy Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Ghadir Nezami, has arrived in New Delhi to take part in the Meeting of BRICS National Security Advisers and Heads of Security Agencies. Nezami is scheduled to engage in various specialized sessions and meetings with officials from participating countries.
The BRICS National Security Advisers’ Meeting, held on June 22-23, gathers security officials from member countries to discuss global security challenges and enhance collaboration on strategic issues. Chaired by India’s National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, the meeting will focus on non-traditional security challenges faced by the world today.
Delegates at the meeting will exchange views on the changing security landscape and the impact of emerging technologies on global and national security. Discussions will encompass cybersecurity, digital vulnerabilities, artificial intelligence risks, and other non-conventional security issues. The outcomes of recent BRICS Joint Working Groups on Counter-Terrorism and Security in Information and Communication Technologies will also be reviewed to enhance cooperation in addressing transnational threats.
India’s active role in steering discussions within BRICS on global governance, security cooperation, and technological challenges underscores the meeting’s significance. The group’s expanded focus now includes strategic and security-related concerns affecting member nations.
