Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi strongly reacted to comments made by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, denying the existence of an “Iranian threat” and accusing “Israel Firsters” of causing harm to both Americans and Iranians. Rubio had stated that the US conducted strikes on Iran to prevent potential attacks on American forces after learning of Israel’s plans. Araghchi criticized Rubio’s remarks, emphasizing that the US engaged in a war favoring Israel, not due to any Iranian threat.
Araghchi highlighted that the responsibility for the casualties on both sides lies with Israel, not Iran. He urged the American people to reclaim their nation, stating that the shedding of American and Iranian blood is a consequence of actions by “Israel Firsters.” US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth previously mentioned that Israel was behind the strike in Tehran that resulted in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader and other officials.
Rubio defended the US administration’s decision to take action against Iran, emphasizing the necessity of the operation regardless of the circumstances leading to it. He clarified that while the US aims to see an end to the Khamenei regime, it was not the primary objective of the military operation.
