A bizarre culinary creation has exploded across social media in December 2025, leaving millions questioning its authenticity: Biryani Cheesecake. With over 1.2 million views and heated online debates, the burning question remains—is this strange fusion dish actually real, or just another AI-generated hoax?

The verdict: Biryani Cheesecake is 100% real, not AI-generated.

What Is Biryani Cheesecake?

Despite looking like a sweet dessert, Biryani Cheesecake is entirely savory. This unconventional dish disguises traditional biryani flavors within a cheesecake structure, creating a culinary optical illusion that has bewildered food lovers worldwide.

According to its creators at Cookd (@cookdtv), a Tamil food content creator platform on Instagram, “the eyes will say it is a cheesecake, the nose will say it smells like biryani… but the tongue will say it is tasty.” The recipe was unveiled in mid-December 2025 as an experimental fusion concept.

How It’s Made

The recipe replaces traditional sweet ingredients with savory Indian staples. The crust uses crushed biscuits mixed with fried onions, garam masala, and ghee instead of sugar and butter. The filling combines cream cheese and yogurt seasoned with ginger-garlic paste, green chilies, saffron, and biryani spices. After baking, it’s topped with raita (yogurt dip) and crispy fried onions.

Internet Divided

The dish has sparked passionate reactions online. Progressive food enthusiasts have praised the creativity, calling it “legit good,” while biryani purists have expressed outrage at this radical departure from traditional preparation. The debate highlights the ongoing tension between culinary innovation and cultural authenticity.

This viral moment reflects broader food trends: fusion cuisine challenging traditional boundaries, social media amplifying experimental recipes, and the growing power of food content creators in shaping culinary conversations.

Bottom line: Biryani Cheesecake is neither AI-generated nor fake—it’s a legitimate recipe that exists at the intersection of traditional Indian cuisine and modern fusion experimentation. Whether it’s genius or blasphemy depends on your openness to food innovation.
