Kishan’s explosive 81 off 44 balls propelled India to a formidable total of 219/5, leading to a convincing 90-run victory over Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club. The win secured India a 2-0 lead in the three-match series under captain Shreyas Iyer.
After the match, head coach VVS Laxman delegated the announcement of the award to the support staff, with Strength and Conditioning Coach A.I. Harsha revealing Kishan as the deserving recipient. Harsha commended Kishan’s dedication and professionalism throughout the tour, emphasizing his focused approach to every aspect of the game.
Despite a minor fielding error during the match, Kishan’s overall contributions were lauded by Harsha, who highlighted the player’s exceptional performance. In a video released by the BCCI, Harsha praised Kishan’s meticulous attitude towards fielding, strength and conditioning, and skills, underscoring his commitment and clarity of purpose on the field.
