Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded to US Vice President J.D. Vance’s statement about the US being Israel’s primary ally by emphasizing the significant support Israel receives from India. Netanyahu, in an interview with Fox News, praised India as a “friend” of Israel and highlighted the massive backing he garners from Indians on social media platforms. He also lauded US President Donald Trump as Israel’s strongest ally in the White House.
Netanyahu, without directly naming anyone, criticized the prevalence of anti-Israel and anti-Semitic content in media and social platforms across various nations. Despite this, he mentioned receiving calls from leaders of these countries seeking deals and expressing respect for Israel. Netanyahu stressed that Israel has numerous friends globally, including India, and underscored the country’s technological prowess and expertise in areas like AI and cybersecurity.
The Israeli PM’s comments came in response to Vance cautioning Netanyahu’s cabinet members against criticizing Trump’s efforts to resolve the Iran conflict. Vance had praised Trump as the sole head of state globally sympathetic to Israel at the time. He advised Israeli officials not to undermine their relationship with the US, which he described as Israel’s last powerful ally in the world.
