Debutant Jaafar Jackson revealed that he concealed his portrayal of Michael Jackson in an upcoming biopic from his family for a year. The 29-year-old nephew of the late King of Pop discussed his experience during a conversation with co-star Miles Teller for Interview. Jaafar shared that even his mother was unaware of his role until she saw it on-screen, which left her emotionally moved.
Jaafar expressed that none of his family members knew about his role for a full year, emphasizing the secrecy surrounding his involvement in the project. He mentioned that his mother found watching the film to be a challenging experience, particularly due to the emotional impact of seeing him portray such an iconic figure.
Discussing his personal reaction to the completed film, Jaafar described his initial surprise at how quickly the movie seemed to pass by during his first viewing. However, upon watching it a second time, he was able to fully immerse himself in the story and appreciate the on-screen portrayal. Jaafar, the son of Jermaine Jackson and Alejandra Jackson, is set to make his acting debut in the biopic “Michael,” directed by Antoine Fuqua and featuring a talented ensemble cast.
