Actor Jaaved Jaaferi, gearing up for his film ‘Mayasabha,’ expressed concern over India’s limited number of cinema screens. Comparing India to China, he emphasized the significant disparity in screen count between the two countries.
Jaaferi stressed the need for more cinemas in India, citing the vast land available for development. He highlighted that while China boasts around 1.25 to 2 lakh screens, India only has approximately 15,000 screens, making it challenging for filmmakers to secure screenings for their movies.
In the upcoming film ‘Mayasabha,’ Jaaved Jaaferi portrays Parmeshwar Khanna, a disgraced producer living in seclusion with his son in an old theater rumored to house hidden gold. The narrative unfolds as outsiders venture into the theater in pursuit of the treasure, leading to a suspenseful exploration of obsession and existential themes.
