On the 24th death anniversary of legendary lyricist Anand Bakshi, actor Jackie Shroff honored his memory by sharing a heartfelt tribute on Instagram. Remembering Bakshi’s contribution to Indian cinema, Jackie posted a picture of the lyricist along with a song from his debut film “Hero” released in 1983. Anand Bakshi, known for his prolific work, penned over 6,000 songs for more than 300 films during his career.
Anand Bakshi’s journey in the film industry began with his first song in the 1956 film “Bhalaa Aadmi.” He gained recognition in 1962 with the song “Mehendi Lagi Mere Haath” and continued to make a mark with hits like “Jab Jab Phool Khile” in 1965. Bakshi collaborated extensively with actor Rajesh Khanna and wrote memorable lyrics for numerous iconic movies such as “Sholay,” “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge,” and “Mohabbatein.”
In addition to honoring Anand Bakshi, Jackie Shroff also celebrated the 25th anniversary of his film “One 2 Ka 4,” an action drama starring Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla. The movie follows Arun as he investigates the suspicious death of his partner Javed, taking on the responsibility of raising Javed’s children with the help of their housekeeper Geeta.
