External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar commenced his official two-day visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by engaging with the Indian community. He emphasized the Indian government’s commitment to ensuring the security and well-being of its citizens amidst the West Asia conflict.
During the interaction, Jaishankar acknowledged the contributions of the Indian community to the local society during challenging times. He also expressed gratitude for the support extended by the UAE government in safeguarding the welfare of the Indian community.
Following his visit to Mauritius, where he attended the 9th Indian Ocean Conference, Jaishankar arrived in the UAE. The visit to Mauritius yielded significant outcomes in areas such as health, education, infrastructure, and green mobility, reaffirming India’s dedication to its Neighbourhood First policy and support for the Global South.
In the upcoming segment of his visit, Jaishankar is scheduled to hold discussions with UAE leadership to enhance the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two nations. Additionally, he recently announced the successful evacuation of 312 Indian fishermen from Iran to India via Armenia, expressing gratitude to the Armenian government for their assistance.
