External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met with Austria’s Chancellor Christian Stocker in New Delhi, expressing optimism that their discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, scheduled for the next day, will enhance cooperation between the two nations.
Stocker, on his first official visit to India, aims to bolster bilateral ties in trade, investment, and emerging technologies, acknowledging India’s significant growth and its status as the EU’s primary trading partner in South Asia.
During Stocker’s visit, discussions will focus on expanding collaboration in trade, investment, green technology, and other critical sectors, with both countries looking to deepen cooperation in areas such as advanced manufacturing, digital innovation, and renewable energy.
Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal welcomed Stocker’s visit, highlighting the warm relationship between India and Austria and the potential for further enhancing the ‘Enhanced India–Austria partnership’ through increased strategic and economic cooperation.
Stocker, accompanied by a high-level delegation, including senior ministers and business leaders, signifies the strong economic emphasis of the visit, with expectations to explore opportunities for deeper collaboration and partnerships between the two nations.
