Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, inspected the preparations for the upcoming Mata Kheer Bhawani Mela in Tullamulla town of Ganderbal district. The annual religious event is scheduled for June 22, and Abdullah assured that all necessary arrangements would be completed on time. He visited the Kheer Bhawani Temple to oversee the facilities for devotees arriving from various places to participate in the event.
Chief Minister Abdullah, also the Ganderbal MLA, emphasized the significance of the Kheer Bhawani Mela, which draws devotees globally. He interacted with temple priests and stakeholders to address their needs and ensure a smooth experience for pilgrims. Abdullah highlighted the importance of completing pending works before the commencement of the festival to provide essential amenities and logistical support to devotees.
The annual Kheer Bhawani Mela is a major event for the Kashmiri Pandit community, attracting a large number of devotees each year. Held on Jyeshtha Ashtami at the Mata Ragnya Devi shrine in Tullamulla, the festival is a significant gathering for Kashmiri Pandits. Thousands of devotees from across India travel to the Valley for the festival, with official transit arrangements, including transport fleets from Jammu, being organized.
