Jammu and Kashmir legislators from various parties expressed dismay during the Question Hour at the Legislative Assembly due to the nonattendance of senior bureaucrats. National Conference MLA, Nazi Ahmad Gurezi, criticized the absence of bureaucrats, emphasizing the importance of their presence in the House for effective governance. Gurezi called upon Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to take action against the officials for neglecting their duty.

Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather intervened, highlighting the necessity for top department officers to be present during relevant discussions in the Assembly. BJP legislators, including Sham Lal Sharma and Pawan Gupta, raised concerns over the absence of bureaucrats, emphasizing the accountability of the executive to the legislature. They suggested deferring the business of departments whose officials were not present in the House.

MLAs from various political parties, including the BJP, NC, PDP, Congress, and Peoples Conference, stood in protest against the absence of bureaucrats, underscoring the significance of their participation in legislative proceedings.
