Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah visited the family of a minor girl who was kidnapped, raped, and murdered in Budgam district. He offered his condolences to the grieving family and assured them that the perpetrator would face severe punishment. Meanwhile, police in Budgam disclosed details about the accused in the Galwanpora murder case after completing necessary legal procedures.

Police in Budgam district provided information about the accused, identified as Mudasir Ahmad Mir, son of Ghulam Nabi Mir, a resident of Galwanpora Sebdan, Budgam. The investigation confirmed that no other individual was involved in the crime. Authorities urged the public to maintain peace, communal harmony, and cooperate with the investigation to ensure public order.

The tragic incident of the minor girl’s rape and murder has deeply affected the community in the Valley, eliciting shock, grief, and anger. Authorities emphasized the importance of responsible reporting and cautioned against spreading rumors or unverified information that could incite unrest. Media organizations and social media users were urged to exercise restraint in their coverage of the case to prevent unnecessary public anxiety and maintain law and order.
