Sanae Takaichi’s three-day visit to India from July 1-3 included attending the 16th India-Japan Annual Summit with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During her stay, PM Modi hosted a dinner for PM Takaichi, where they discussed bilateral relations, international affairs, and cultural exchanges. PM Takaichi expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality and emphasized deepening mutual trust for stronger Japan-India relations.
At the 16th Annual India-Japan Summit, PM Modi and PM Takaichi engaged in discussions covering various aspects of bilateral ties, including trade, investment, economic security, energy, and defense. The leaders also exchanged key Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements on Economic Security, Clean Energy, and critical technologies. Both sides agreed on activities to celebrate the upcoming 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
PM Modi and PM Takaichi participated in the India-Japan Joint Economic Forum, focusing on boosting investment, strengthening supply chains, and fostering manufacturing partnerships. The forum highlighted the importance of industry in advancing the Special Strategic and Global Partnership, emphasizing cooperation in critical and emerging technologies for mutual benefit.
