Jasmine Shekar took the lead in the fifth leg of the Women’s Pro Golf Tour at the DLF Golf & Country Club by carding 2-under 70, surpassing other well-known players. She is closely followed by amateur Lavanya Gupta at 71. Mannat Brar secured the third spot with an even par 72, as only three players managed to shoot par or better on the challenging course.
The tournament, featuring a record field of 57 players with 49 professionals, is competing for a substantial Rs.18 lakh prize money. Young talents like Vidhatri Urs, Lavanya Jadon, and Jahnavi Prakhya posted scores of 2-over 74, showcasing their skills alongside seasoned players.
Jasmine started steadily with a birdie and several pars, finishing the front nine at 1-under. She continued her good form on the back nine, reaching 2-under after birdying the 11th hole. Despite a couple of late bogeys, she closed the day at 2-under with a birdie on the 18th hole.
Amateur Lavanya displayed her potential by being 3-under through 12 holes, highlighted by birdies on the fifth, 10th, and 12th holes. However, she ended the day at 71 after closing with two bogeys. Mannat Brar also put up a solid performance, mixing birdies and bogeys to secure the third position.
Notable players like Amandeep Drall and Saanvi Somu finished Tied 7th with scores of 75, along with other competitors like Khushi Khanijau, Anvvi Dahhiya, Nayanika Sanga, Durga Nittur, and Gauri Karhade. Former Order of Merit winner Sneha placed 14th with a score of 76, while Tvesa Malik and fourth leg winner Ridhima Dilawari finished T-15th and T-19th, respectively.
