Jasmine Shekar, a consistent performer on the Women’s Pro Golf Tour, took the lead after the first round of the 2026 Tour opener at the Bombay Presidency Golf Club in Mumbai. She shot a solid 3-under 67, securing a one-shot lead over Lavanya Jadon, who carded a 2-under 68. Former winner Seher Atwal finished with a score of 70, the only other player with a par or better score.
Sneha Singh and Amandeep Drall, both multiple winners in 2025, were among five players tied for fourth place after shooting 2-over 72 each. Jasmine, who finished third on the Order of Merit in 2025, made birdies on the third, eighth, 16th, and 17th holes, with a lone bogey on the 13th.
Lavanya Jadon started with a bogey but recovered well to finish at 2-under 68, while Seher Atwal had a mixed round with four birdies and four bogeys for a score of 70. Sneha Singh and Jahanvi Bakshi made late surges, with Sneha finishing 3-over through 17 before a final birdie on the 18th, and Jahanvi recording three birdies in the last six holes.
In the new season opener, ten new players have joined the pro ranks, showcasing the growth of women’s golf in India.
