The Janata Dal (United) has strongly criticized the Congress party after senior leader Mani Shankar Aiyar made controversial statements, highlighting internal unrest within the Congress. JD(U) National Spokesperson Rajeev Ranjan Prasad expressed concerns over the situation, emphasizing the need for Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to take democratic steps to stabilize the party amidst the ongoing exodus of key figures.
Responding to Aiyar’s comments, BJP MLA Vikram Randhawa joined the fray, suggesting that Aiyar’s recent criticisms of Congress leaders were long overdue. Randhawa pointed out Aiyar’s history of making contentious remarks, including previously referring to a Congress leader as a “puppet,” implying internal discord within the party.
The controversy unfolded after Mani Shankar Aiyar openly criticized several of his own party members, including labeling Congress MP Shashi Tharoor as opportunistic, party General Secretary (organisation) K.C. Venugopal as unruly, and Congress leader Pawan Khera as unreliable. Aiyar’s remarks have sparked a political storm, with opposition parties condemning the Congress for its internal strife.
