Janata Dal(U) MLC Neeraj Kumar has written to the Bihar Director General of Police (DGP) requesting special monitoring of Ramiz Nemat Khan and Deva Gupta, who are closely associated with Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav. Kumar expressed concerns that Khan and Gupta might be accompanying Yadav on a foreign trip, as per media reports from December 5. Khan, a resident of Balrampur district in Uttar Pradesh, has familial ties to a jailed former politician.
Kumar highlighted that Ramiz Nemat Khan, along with his wife and father-in-law, was previously arrested in connection with a murder case during the 2021 district panchayat elections. He also raised suspicions about Deva Gupta, the RJD’s candidate for the 2025 Assembly elections, who is reportedly listed as a wanted criminal by the East Champaran Police. Gupta faces numerous serious criminal charges, including murder and extortion, with a reward offered for his arrest.
In his letter to the DGP, Neeraj Kumar emphasized the importance of monitoring individuals with criminal backgrounds who may be traveling with Tejashwi Yadav, urging the police to closely watch over such associates.
