The Jeay Sindh Freedom Movement (JSFM) has strongly criticized the enforced disappearance of its Jamshoro district president Saeed Tiyono and activist Sabir Abro by Pakistani state agencies. The JSFM central leadership has expressed outrage, labeling this incident as a severe violation of human rights and an act of state brutality. They have threatened to initiate a robust protest campaign, including blocking the Jamshoro National Highway, if Tiyono and Abro are not released promptly.
In a joint statement, key members of the JSFM central leadership highlighted that Saeed Tiyono’s sole offense was his affection for Sindh, emphasizing the unjust nature of his abduction. The statement emphasized the condemnation of the enforced disappearance, characterizing it as an example of state terrorism and a flagrant violation of fundamental human rights. The leadership named several individuals who were part of the statement, underscoring their unified stance against such actions.
According to the statement, Saeed Tiyono has been actively advocating against the exploitation of Sindh’s resources and has been a vocal proponent for the liberation and protection of forcibly disappeared nationalist activists. He has extended his support to political activists detained under false charges, aligning himself with those fighting for justice. The JSFM has called upon the international community, including organizations like the United Nations, Amnesty International, and Human Rights Watch, to urgently intervene and address the ongoing enforced disappearances and human rights violations in Sindh and Balochistan.
The JSFM urged global entities to take concrete steps and speak out for the safe recovery and release of all forcibly disappeared nationalist activists from Sindh and Balochistan. The organization emphasized that enforced disappearances represent a severe breach of international law and fundamental human rights. They criticized the silence of the international community, stating that it only serves to embolden the perpetrators of such crimes.
