J&K Police’s Crime Branch conducted searches in Budgam district regarding a Rs 93 lakh land fraud case involving the sale of migrant property and trees through forged agreements. The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Kashmir of Crime Branch J&K led the searches at Semsaan in Budgam under FIR No. 17/2026.

The case revolves around Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Dar of Jawalpora, Budgam, and Soom Nath Koul of Bengaluru/Jammu, who allegedly deceived a buyer into purchasing 5 kanals of migrant land and 300 standing trees through fake agreements. Investigations revealed that neither the land nor the trees belonged to the accused.

In furtherance of the probe, house searches were conducted in Semsaan to gather incriminating evidence. The Crime Branch urged the public to watch out for economic fraud and report any such incidents to SSP EOW Srinagar (Crime Branch J&K), Abdul Waheed Shah, or via email at [email protected].
