English actor John Boyega is reportedly in discussions with Lucasfilm regarding a possible comeback to the ‘Star Wars’ franchise. Boyega, known for his role as Finn in the sequel trilogy, hinted at these talks during a panel at MEGACON Orlando. Fans are eager for his return, with Boyega revealing conversations with Lucasfilm president Dave Filoni.
The next installment in the ‘Star Wars’ series, ‘The Mandalorian + Grogu’, featuring Pedro Pascal, Sigourney Weaver, and Jeremy Allen White, is set to premiere on May 22, 2026. This will mark the first Star Wars movie since 2019’s ‘The Rise of Skywalker’. Boyega has previously expressed his ideas for the sequels, emphasizing a focus on honoring the legacies of iconic characters like Han Solo and Luke Skywalker.
In envisioning his own version of the Star Wars saga, Boyega mentioned drawing inspiration from the franchise’s online video games, particularly ‘The Old Republic’ and ‘Force Unleashed’. His creative approach would involve expanding the universe and incorporating elements from these games into the films.
