JSW Infrastructure, the second-largest private port operator in India, saw a decrease in net profit for the April-June quarter. The company’s consolidated net profit dropped by 9.89% to Rs 346.63 crore, attributed to lower profit before tax and a higher effective tax rate. Despite this decline, the company experienced an 18.15% increase in revenue, driven by higher cargo volumes and a strong logistics business.
Operating performance remained robust, with EBITDA increasing by 8.9% year-on-year to Rs 731 crore. However, the EBITDA margin narrowed to 48.7% due to higher operating costs. JSW Infrastructure handled 31 million tonnes of cargo during the quarter, with growth mainly supported by Jaigarh Port’s strong performance. The company aims to double its cargo handling capacity to 400 million tonnes per annum by FY30.
