Veteran Congress leader Kamal Nath expressed concern to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav regarding the high number of cattle deaths at the Adarsh Gaushala in Chhindwara. Media reports indicated that over 90 cattle had died within a month, with 43 deaths in the first 19 days of July. Nath highlighted the absence of veterinary doctors and staff at the gaushala during this period.
“The death of numerous cattle at the Adarsh Gaushala is distressing and alarming, questioning the state’s cattle protection measures,” stated Kamal Nath. He emphasized the cultural and economic significance of cattle in India and the vital role of gaushalas in their care. Nath raised concerns about the lack of fodder, clean water, and medical attention leading to the cattle deaths.
In his letter to the Chief Minister, Nath stressed the urgent need to enhance gaushala operations and ensure proper oversight of their services. He urged the government to address the issue promptly and implement measures to enhance cattle welfare statewide. Nath called for improved provisions of fodder, water, veterinary care, and staffing at gaushalas to prevent such tragedies in the future.
