Kami Rita Sherpa, a veteran Nepali mountaineer, achieved a remarkable feat by climbing Mount Everest for the 32nd time, surpassing his own record. The 55-year-old successfully reached the summit, standing at 8,848.86 meters, during the Spring 2026 mountaineering season.
This accomplishment was confirmed by Nepal’s Department of Tourism, stating that Kami Rita completed the ascent while leading an expedition organized by 14 Peaks Expedition. His closest competitor, Pasang Dawa Sherpa, has reached the summit 29 times, making them the top contenders in Everest ascents.
Renowned as the “Everest Man,” Kami Rita has continuously demonstrated exceptional determination and resilience in the face of extreme challenges. Since his initial summit in 1994, he has been a source of inspiration for many, showcasing unparalleled passion for mountaineering.
