Bollywood actress and politician Kangana Ranaut commended Prime Minister Modi for his swift actions following the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan as the Union Minister of Education. Ranaut, speaking outside Parliament, highlighted PM Modi’s dedication to addressing the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak issue. She praised the formation of a high-powered committee to ensure fair examinations, emphasizing the Prime Minister’s commitment to the country.

In a subtle jab at Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, Ranaut compared the current education budget under PM Modi to that during the UPA regime, implying a significant increase. Pradhan stepped down amidst widespread student protests and public outcry over exam irregularities, including the NEET-UG paper leak. His resignation led to the appointment of Pralhad Joshi as the new Union Education Minister, following a series of demonstrations and a police crackdown in Delhi.

The violent suppression of protestors on July 20 ignited nationwide outrage, with citizens rallying in support of the students at Jantar Mantar. The demonstrations, which began in Delhi and spread to other cities and towns, drew attention to the students’ demands for accountability and fair examinations.
