Karandeep Kochhar ended the US$500,000 IGPL Bharath Classic in Morocco with a bogey-free 4-under 68 on the final day, securing a T-9 finish. This marks his third Top-10 finish of the year and elevates him to 12th place on the Asian Tour Order of Merit. Sweden’s Charlie Lindh dominated the event with a total of 18-under, securing a comprehensive victory.
The tournament, co-sanctioned by the Indian Golf Premier League (IGPL) and the Asian Tour, witnessed Gaganjeet Bhullar and Yashas Chandra as the next best Indian IGPL players, finishing at 6-under and securing a T-27 position. Rashid Khan, Kartik Singh, and Sachin Baisoya finished T-41, with Kartik showcasing a round filled with birdies and bogeys.
Shaurya Bhattacharya and Aman Raj finished T-52 and T-56, respectively, while other Indian players like Pukhraj Singh Gill, Raghav Chugh, and Udayan Mane secured varied positions. Kochhar, the winner of IGPL Dubai, displayed a strong performance in hitting fairways and greens but faced challenges with his putter throughout the event.
Kochhar, eyeing a win on the Asian Tour, is now preparing for the $2m International Series Morocco following his successful outings. Lindh, the 28-year-old winner, expressed his excitement and focus after his remarkable victory, heading confidently to the upcoming US$2 million International Series Morocco.
Settee Prakongvech, the overnight leader, settled for a tie for second place with American Charles Porter at 14-under. Lindh’s childhood friend, Isaac Bondesson, accompanied him during the tournament, witnessing Lindh’s exceptional performance. Lindh’s stellar final round, culminating in an eagle on the 18th, secured his well-deserved victory.
