India’s Karandeep Kochhar concluded the Asian Tour event with a bogey-free final round of 68, landing a top-10 finish at the USD 500,000 IGPL Bharath Classic. Kochhar’s consistent performance placed him at 11-under-par, securing a share of ninth place and marking his third top-10 finish this season. Meanwhile, Sweden’s Charlie Lindh clinched victory with an impressive eight-under 64, finishing at 18-under-par and claiming a four-shot win.
The tournament, jointly organized by the Indian Golf Premier League (IGPL) and the Asian Tour, saw Lindh’s remarkable victory after finishing as runner-up in his previous event. Kochhar’s display of growing consistency was evident throughout the week, with his exceptional play from tee to green. Despite some challenges on the greens, Kochhar’s flawless final round included four birdies, totaling 16 birdies for the tournament.
Kochhar, a 28-year-old Indian golfer, showcased his skills with a tied-ninth finish, gearing up for the upcoming USD 2 million International Series Morocco. Among other Indian participants, Gaganjeet Bhullar and Yashas Chandra secured tied-27th positions at six-under-par. The event also witnessed strong performances from Rashid Khan, Kartik Singh, and Sachin Baisoya, each showcasing their talents on the course.
In a stunning turn of events, Lindh’s exceptional final round propelled him to victory, overcoming a three-shot deficit. With a childhood friend as his caddie, Lindh sealed the win in style with an eagle on the 18th hole. American Charles Porter briefly challenged for the lead but faltered on the final hole, settling for a tie for second place alongside Settee at 14-under.
Thailand’s Sarit Suwannarut and England’s Sam Broadhurst shared fourth place, while Morocco’s Ayoub Lguirati emerged as the leading local performer, finishing tied for 13th. The Asian Tour now moves to Rabat for the USD 2 million International Series Morocco, where players like Kochhar aim to build on their recent successes.
