In an upcoming episode of a singing reality show, Karisma Kapoor shares her admiration for the late star and her uncle Rishi Kapoor. She expresses that Rishi Kapoor’s movie “Karz” holds a special place as her favorite among the Kapoor family films. Karisma reminisces about being captivated by the film as a child, praising its music, performances, and script ahead of its time.
For those unfamiliar, Rishi Kapoor, affectionately known as Chintu, was the second son of legendary actor-director Raj Kapoor and the grandson of Prithviraj Kapoor. “Karz,” released in 1980, featured Rishi Kapoor, Tina Munim, and Simi Garewal in significant roles. The movie’s popular track “Ek Haseena Thi” and “Om Shanti Om” became chart-toppers and continue to be hits today.
Rishi Kapoor, a prominent figure in Bollywood for over four decades, married actress Neetu Singh and had two children, Ranbir Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni. Tragically, Rishi Kapoor passed away in April 2020 after a battle with cancer.
