The Karnataka BJP has accused the state government of acquiring 31 plots unlawfully instead of providing housing to the poor and land to the landless. The party presented documents alleging these actions and demanded the retrieval of all the sites. Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council Chalavadi Narayanaswamy raised these concerns during a press conference at the BJP state office in Bengaluru.
Narayanaswamy criticized the government for allegedly allotting sites at various levels for party purposes, which he deemed unauthorized. He highlighted instances where sites were reportedly allocated to political parties at significantly lower rates than their actual values. The BJP leader expressed concerns over similar allotments in various districts across the state, emphasizing that these sites were intended for public purposes.
The opposition leader further alleged irregularities in the allocation of civic amenity sites, pointing out discrepancies in valuations and pricing. He claimed that the ruling Congress party had obtained a total of 31 sites from different authorities. Narayanaswamy urged the legal department to investigate the matter and insisted that the government reclaim all the sites promptly to avoid potential legal repercussions.
