The Karnataka Bharatiya Janata Party is contemplating a padayatra to Ballari, with the final decision awaiting consultation with the party’s central leadership. State President B.Y. Vijayendra mentioned that senior leaders, including Gali Janardhan Reddy and B. Sriramulu, support the idea of the padayatra. Discussions with the party high command will precede the conclusive determination.
Vijayendra confirmed talks with the party’s Delhi leadership and anticipates further instructions shortly. The protest scheduled for January 17 in Ballari will witness the participation of key leaders like Janardhan Reddy and Sriramulu. The BJP aims to stage protests statewide, focusing on issues such as governance failures, corruption, lawlessness, farmer concerns, and drug problems.
Alleging a decline in law and order, Vijayendra emphasized the necessity of the Ballari protest on January 17. He criticized the Congress for prioritizing power struggles over public welfare, citing a lack of genuine progress in the state. The BJP plans to counter Congress’s misinformation campaigns by conducting awareness programs in taluk centers and rural regions.
