Karnataka Police have filed a First Information Report (FIR) against BJP MLC C.T. Ravi for reportedly making a hate speech regarding the NEET paper leak protests. The FIR was lodged by the Chikkamagaluru Town Police following orders from the Principal Civil Judge and Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court.
The complaint, filed by Mudassir Pasha, president of Jamia Masjid in Chikkamagaluru, alleges that Ravi’s comments during a protest march were inflammatory. Ravi is accused of linking the NEET issue with communal matters and making derogatory remarks about certain groups.
Ravi’s statements, as per the FIR, included questioning the involvement of certain individuals in the protests and accusing them of being part of anti-national elements. The FIR cites Ravi’s comments as potentially sowing discord among communities and calls for legal action against him.
The Karnataka State Muslim Federation has condemned Ravi’s remarks and called for his immediate arrest. The Federation criticized BJP leaders for allegedly trying to communalize the NEET protests and accused them of targeting the Muslim community unfairly.
