Karnataka BJP President and MLA, B.Y. Vijayendra, expressed strong disapproval of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly’s resolution against the Mekedatu balancing reservoir and drinking water project. He emphasized Karnataka’s rights over the Cauvery river waters and criticized Tamil Nadu’s interference.

Asserting Karnataka’s commitment to protect its interests, Vijayendra denounced Tamil Nadu’s exploitation of the Cauvery issue for political gains. He vowed to safeguard farmers’ interests and Kannadigas’ drinking water rights through any necessary struggle.

He criticized the Congress party for what he perceived as double standards in supporting conflicting stances on the matter.
