After securing wins in town panchayat elections in various districts of Karnataka, the state’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) expressed confidence in its return to power. The BJP won 48 out of 76 seats in the elections, with the Congress securing 23 seats, Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) three, and Independents two. The party also emerged victorious in elections held in Raichur and Bengaluru Rural districts.
State BJP President B.Y. Vijayendra celebrated the party’s success in four town panchayats across Karnataka. The BJP clinched victories in Bashettihalli, Bajpe, Kinnigoli, and Manki town panchayats. Additionally, the party won a by-election in Turvihal Town Panchayat’s Ward No. 4 in Raichur district.
The BJP leadership praised the voters for supporting development in the town panchayat and local body by-elections, emphasizing the party’s commitment to the constituencies’ overall progress. The party credited its young leaders for the hard work that led to these victories, expressing gratitude to all supporters and candidates for their efforts in ensuring the party’s success.
