Shivakumar commended Karnataka Police for their successful crackdown on drug trafficking, offering a substantial cash reward to the team responsible. The Chief Minister lauded Karnataka Police for seizing narcotics worth Rs 375 crore and apprehending 1,500 drug peddlers in the past year, underscoring their remarkable achievements. He expressed pride in the police force’s dedication and professionalism, emphasizing the government’s commitment to supporting officers who ensure public safety.
Shivakumar disclosed discussions with Kerala Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala regarding preventing drug trafficking across the Karnataka border. He assured stringent measures to curb drug movement into Kerala, reinforcing the government’s resolve to combat narcotics effectively. The Chief Minister also announced plans to enhance security measures for temple donations following a recent theft incident at the Ram Mandir.
