Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar revealed that the Monsoon Session of the State Legislature is set to begin on August 13. He called for a meeting with all Karnataka MPs in Delhi on July 27 to address the state’s drought concerns and seek assistance from the Centre.
Shivakumar made these statements while interacting with the media near the National Military Memorial in Bengaluru. The upcoming Legislature session will witness joint efforts by BJP and JD(S) to raise public issues and hold the ruling Congress government accountable.
In a letter dated July 25, CM Shivakumar highlighted the severe drought situation in Karnataka. He urged elected representatives to support the state government in taking up the matter with the Union government. The meeting in Delhi aims to discuss drought conditions and strategies to secure relief and support from the Central government.
Shivakumar stressed the importance of a united approach by political representatives, regardless of party affiliations, to tackle the challenges posed by the drought. He expressed optimism that the Centre would provide assistance during this critical period. The meeting with MPs in Delhi will focus on raising state-related issues and seeking attention from the Central government.
