Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced plans to gradually fill vacant positions in government departments to boost employment opportunities. Addressing concerns over increasing human-wildlife conflicts due to a rise in elephant, leopard, and tiger populations, the CM mentioned efforts to install barricades along forest borders. Additionally, he emphasized the government’s commitment to combat ganja and narcotic substance use among minors.
In response to recent incidents, Siddaramaiah vowed strict actions against organizations violating the law. He also highlighted the ongoing expenditure on guarantee schemes while ensuring the continuation of development works. The CM mentioned upcoming discussions with environmentalists regarding the Agumbe tunnel project and the imminent completion of the Parashurama Theme Park project in Karkala.
Regarding the Brahmavar sugar factory issue, Siddaramaiah promised an investigation into alleged irregularities. He clarified the stance on MLAs aspiring for ministerial roles, stating that first-time MLAs would not be considered for such positions. Reflecting on the importance of education, he stressed the need for rational and scientific thinking to address societal challenges and commended former Union Minister Veerappa Moily’s dedication to social service.
