Karnataka has successfully distributed Enumeration Forms (EFs) to more than 95% of the state’s voters as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The Election Commission of India (ECI) has adjusted the schedule for the SIR in Karnataka, maintaining October 1, 2026, as the crucial date for the process. House-to-house verification by Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will now continue until August 8, 2026, as per the ECI’s official communication.
The draft electoral rolls are set to be released on August 17, 2026, allowing electors to submit claims and objections between August 17 and September 16. The notice phase and handling of claims and objections will occur from August 17 to October 15, with the final electoral rolls slated for publication on October 19, 2026. The revised schedule aims to ensure a transparent and thorough revision of electoral rolls in Karnataka.
As of June 16, 2026, Karnataka had 5,54,32,314 registered electors. The ongoing house-to-house enumeration, in progress since June 30, will continue until August 8, alongside the digitization of forms. A total of 5,30,42,667 Enumeration Forms have been distributed, covering 95.69% of the electorate.
The Chief Electoral Officer’s office disclosed that 44,798 polling stations, representing 75.86% of the total, have achieved complete distribution of Enumeration Forms.
